I met Brice Catherin in 2017.
After collaboration on one of his Symphonies (Symphonie pour une femme seule), in which I authored a part called Baiser par contagion we have collaborated further in November 2020.
Three projects came out of two weeks spent together.
There will be wine (A Super8 film, fast forward documentary, and several soundtracks)
Snow Suite (A dance theater solo and a soundtrack with musical guest Moo Kim)
Things that my phone glimpsed -Solo for camera operator (A musical dance solo featuring a useless drone)

In January I interpreted of a solo which was originally composed by Ari Benjamin Meyers for and in collaboration with Ayumi Paul.
This solo is a durational piece (6 hours), which operates like a meditation. It is inspired by Ayumi’s life.
 
Performing this solo has been for me a very deep and interesting process. Of receiving the piece and trying to grasp it and its depths at first. But then, of tracing my own path with my own tools and of creating a new, personal history that could live in the wake of Ayumi’s life and experience and their prints in the score.
My experience with the body and the voice has helped finding new sculptures to this material which did not originate from me and to find new resonances to it, with it.
 
I must also thank Lisa Densem who has accompanied me along the process with somatic breath work.

HOPELESS.
 
In the ecology between poetic language and choreography, words collide woefully with flesh.
 

 
In an unceasingly warming world, what is left of the idyllic nature described in the pastoral poems of Theocritus and Virgil? Today, we forge our own pastoral settings out of remains while mourning the losses yet to come. In the ecosystem of poetry and choreography, performers are technologically enhanced nymphs and shepherds that exorcise all possible dystopian scenarios and compete to see who can make the audience cry the loudest. Hopelessness is not a state of a paralysis, but instead a force that moves us to act.

In “A Matter of One’s Own”, three dancers remake the dance pieces that shaped their personal dance biographies and come out with a collective embodied memoir. They speak up, not as muses or tools for the choreographer but as a force. They speak up about pain and pleasure, reflecting upon the politics of the dance world, dance education, and dance making. Through personalizing these choreographies, each of the dancers is rewriting and retelling herstory. Parallels and contradictions unfold in their coexisting stories, while, in the process of coming together, an underlying alliance prevails. This work is a feminist contribution to the search for new forms of collaboration that question authorship and hierarchy – a call to change power structures in dance.

C’est la rencontre entre deux matière-corps dont le point de départ est une étreinte qui tourne sur elle-même. A l’écoute de la pulsation cardiaque et de la sensation du sang, ces deux géographies corporelles entretiennent une relation faite de glissements, de pressions, d’appuis… qui les mènent progressivement à confier leur poids et à se porter mutuellement. Les densités de corps se prolongent, se confondent, se détachent pour donner lieu à de multiples figures où la chorégraphie devient celle de l’espace entre les corps.
